The museum and its outdoor areas are imagined as a sequence of three tangential rings, reflecting the needs of its program: the Port, a promenade on water, connecting the elements of the program, and a public space in itself; the Stage, terrace to the museum and, on occasions, autonomous island, lending itself to special programming; and the Observatory, the museum’s body, looking inwards, towards the media exhibitions, and outwards, towards the enclosed pond and the waterscape.
