We imagined the installation for Dropcity’s Magazzino 142 as a large fabric house-creature, a temporary resident of the tunnel for the duration of the Fuori Salone. During Milan Design Week the space hosted events, videos, and audio recordings revolving around ‘Aspen, The Italian Manifesto’, part of the congress organized by the International Design Conference in Aspen (1989). Entering the tunnel, one enters the belly of the creature, approaching the ethereal fabric, changing color with the light, and recorded interventions are heard. Part Pinocchio in the belly of the whale, part cave of the Count of Monte Cristo, the pavilion is a large nomadic house for words, encounters, and objects.
